Review of Proposed Operations: Information Centre 
Temagami Management Unit 2019-2029 Forest Management Plan 

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), First Resource Management Group and 
the Temagami Local Citizens’ Committee (LCC) invite you to an information centre. This information centre 
is being held as part of the detailed planning of operations for the ten-year period of the 2019–2029 Forest 
Management Plan (FMP) for the Temagami Management Unit. 

The Planning Process 

The FMP takes approximately three 
years to complete. During this time, 
five formal opportunities for public 
consultation and First Nation and 
Métis community involvement and 
consultation are provided. The second 
opportunity (Stage Two) for this 
FMP occurred November 8, 2017 to 
December 7, 2017 when the public was 
invited to review and comment on the 
long-term management direction. 

This ‘Stage Three’ notice is: 

• To invite you to review and 
comment on: 
-the details of access, harvest, 
renewal and tending operations 
for the ten-year period of the 
plan, and 
-the proposed primary and branch 
road corridors and the proposed 
operational road boundaries for 
the ten-year period of the plan, and 
• To request contributions to the background information to be used in planning. 

How to Get Involved 

To facilitate your review, information centres will be held at the following locations from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
on the following days: 

April 16, 2018 at the Temagami Community Centre & Arena, 100 Spruce Drive, Temagami, ON P0H 2H0 

April 17, 2018 at the New Liskeard Golf Clubhouse, 804027 Golf Course Road, New Liskeard, ON P0J 1P0 

The following information may be obtained at the information centre: 

• Summary of the MNRF Regional Director preliminary endorsed long-term management direction; and 
• Summary map(s) of: 
-the planned areas for harvest, renewal and tending operations for the ten-year period of the plan; and 
-the proposed corridors for new primary and branch roads for the ten-year period of the plan.

CAMERON, ONTARIO [CO, AU]

HIGHLIGHTS

LOCATION

The Cameron Cobalt Project is located in Brigstocke Township approximately 20 kilometers southwest of Cobalt, Ontario and 120 kilometers north of North Bay, Ontario. The property consists of 4 claim units covering an area of 64 hectares hosting the past exploration pits and a shaft of the Cameron target developed in the 1950’s which is now closed.

GEOLOGICAL SETTING

Geologically the Cameron Cobalt property is located within the Cobalt Embayment in the Southern Province of the Canadian Shield where Huronian Supergroup sedimentary rocks lay unconformably overly Archean basement rocks. Both the Huronian sediments and Archean rocks have been intruded by Proterozoic-aged Nipissing diabase occurring as both sills and dykes.

The Cameron property claims covers the contact between the Proterzoic sediments of the Lorrain and Gowganda formation of the Huronian Supergroup and the intrusion of the Nipissing Diabase. The mineralization model for the property is the “Five Element Vein” style of mineralization (Co-Ag-Ni-Bi-As), which is characteristically found with 250m of the diabase contact. This is the characteristic cobalt silver mineralization found throughout the Cobalt, Silver Centre and Gowganda mining camps.

RESOURCE

A grab sample collected in 1987 from the historical Cameron pits and analyzed by the Ontario Geological Survey returned assay values of 2.26% Co and 1.7 g/t Au. (Data Source is file MDI31M05SW00021 from the Ontario Mineral Deposit Inventory).

PLANNED EXPLORATION

The project was acquired from an Ontario prospecting group for a single payment of $10,000 Canadian with no royalty payment.

This acquisition is in keeping with Canyon’s philosophy to continue to seek quality projects in low risk jurisdictions at good value. This is Canyon’s third cobalt project in Ontario along with Munro-Warden and Samuels Lake, all of which will be part of the 2018 exploration program.
